The purpose of air valves is to expel and admit air from pipes in the manner and volume planned for each installation by the design engineers. In this way, these devices become not only protective and safety elements but also necessary for achieving efficient performance of any pumping and piping network. Although our valves were initially intended for water supply and wastewater systems, over the years these fields have expanded to also include drinking water treatment plants, refrigeration systems, desalination plants, large irrigation systems, mining, and water-to-energy circuits. In all these areas, IRUA provides customized technical solutions to achieve the best performance from its valves.

AUTOMATIC DRAINS
Its purpose is to expel accumulated air from a pipe when it is pressurized and in service.

BIFUNCTIONAL SUCTION CUPS
They allow the expulsion and admission of large quantities of air, needs that arise mainly during the filling and emptying of pipes.

TRIFUNCTIONAL SUCTION CUPS
They combine purge, expulsion, and intake air services in a single valve, resulting in lighter and simpler assemblies while maintaining reliability.

ADDUCTOR VALVES
They only allow air to enter the system in cases where negative pressure threatens to compromise the integrity of the pipe. The opening setting can be adjusted according to the system’s needs.

COMPLEMENTARY VALVES
Our slow-closing, deep-well valves complete the options offered by air valves, giving them extra protection against water hammer.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION
At IRUA, we have developed test benches and protocols to use, which have provided us with the necessary information to design and understand our products. We provide the main curves for proper valve sizing.
